2008 Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney has named his top five players in the AFL in three years time on 1116 SEN.

Cooney's list features two midfielders, two key forwards and a medium forward.

Only two of the five players are from Victorian clubs, showcasing the elite potential talent developing outside of Victoria.

3. Josh Kelly

The young Giant signed a two-year contract extension with GWS late last season, with many believing he could become the game's best player in that two-year span.

An All-Australian at just 22, Kelly is one of the league's best midfielders and is the definition of a smooth mover, as he racked up 29.5 disposals, 4.9 clearances, 5.0 inside 50s and 6.5 tackles per game in 2017.

“The millionaire man. If he wins a flag with GWS, I think he will go then,” Cooney said.
