2008 Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney has named his top five players in the AFL in three years time on 1116 SEN.

Cooney's list features two midfielders, two key forwards and a medium forward.

Only two of the five players are from Victorian clubs, showcasing the elite potential talent developing outside of Victoria.

4. Toby Greene

The GWS star is no stranger to the spotlight, and already has an All-Australian guernsey to his name at just 24 years of age.

Greene's tendency to play on the edge has certainly gotten him in hot water a number of times over his career, but he's someone you'd hate to play against given his talent.

“He has had a couple of hiccups but on the field, his talent is sublime. He is an x-factor, kicks goals and has footy smarts,” Cooney said.
