Collingwood star Dayne Beams was involved in a car accident on Thursday night.

The incident occurred in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, with the 30-year old spending the night in the hospital.

Fortunately, Beams escaped with no serious injuries.

The Magpies released the following statement regarding the accident.

“Collingwood can confirm that Dayne Beams was involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday afternoon,” the statement said.

“Dayne was admitted to hospital with minor injuries from the incident. He remained in hospital overnight.”

Beams is currently on a leave from absence from the club to address his mental health issues.
