Collingwood veteran Jeremy Howe is more than willing to put his hand up to play next year, but he won't stand in the way of the youth coming through.
Howe is the second-oldest player at the Pies, behind V/AFL games record holder Scott Pendlebury, and questions have already begun on where his future lies.
The high-flying defender has already held talks with Collingwood football boss Charlie Gardner and coach Craig McRae, and insists he can go on if the club values his contribution.
"At the moment, with how the body feels," Howe said on Channel Seven's The Agenda Setters.
"The great thing about an experienced player, you have a mature conversation with Charlie (Gardner) and Fly (Craig McRae), and I've done that in the recent couple of weeks, you feel healthy, you feel like you're contributing into the side.
"I've always said I'll never stand or get in the way of young guys coming through. But if you feel like you've got influence, and you feel like the club still wants you to hang around, I'll put my hand up to play when I'm 37.

Howe has played 281 games across the Pies and Melbourne, and was a premiership player for the former in 2023.
In the last three seasons, the 35-year-old hasn't played more than 19 games, including three finals series, but has featured 10 times this year despite an injury-interrupted pre-season.
But whatever way 2027 goes, Howe has ruled out any possibility of playing for Tasmania when they enter the competition the following season.
