Brisbane Lions Academy prospect Matthew Owen will be sidelined for the rest of the Under-18s National Championships with a dislocated shoulder.
Owen kicked a classy early goal before suffering the injury which sidelined him for the remainder of the match.
A 2024 Under-16s All Australian member, Owen is a ball-winning midfielder noted for his footy IQ and ball-use.
The Lions will have priority access to him at this year's AFL National Draft.
He averaged 23 disposals and five marks, playing all seven games for them in this year's Talent League.
Meanwhile, Geelong Falcons star will miss Vic Country's second match of the Under-18s National Championships this weekend.
There will be more clarity around the significance of his injury later in the week, but it is believed to be on the minor end.
Carlton father-son prospect Cody Walker also did not play out the game due to a shoulder injury, the extent to which will be known later in the week.
Vic Country defeated the Allies by 13 points on Sunday after Western Australia upset South Australia by 12 points the previous day.
