Carlton appears set for a record number of members prior to round one.

The Blues have passed 50,000 members and with their first game against Richmond a month away, they will be looking to surpass their record of 56,005 set last season.

The Blues’ membership increases might come as a surprise to many considering their disappointing 2018 campaign when they only managed two wins.

However, there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel for Blues fans as they place their hopes on their young core featuring the likes of captain Patrick Cripps and number one pick Sam Walsh.

The fans’ belief in these players is clearly reflected in the increase in membership numbers.

In further positive news for the club, Alex Fasolo is targeting a return in the JLT series despite originally being expected to miss the start of the regular season after fracturing his arm on Australia Day.
