Carlton forward Corey Durdin has signed a two-year contract extension which will see him remain with the Blues until the end of the 2026 season.
The 22-year-old has played 40 games for Carlton since being drafted in 2020 as Pick 37. Durdin debuted in Round 21 in 2021 and had a standout season in 2022, though last year struggled with a number of injuries causing several setbacks which only saw him play 11 games.
The forward has kicked 32 goals in his short career and has played all but one game this year for the Blues, and is known for his exceptional forward pressure. In Round 5 he had a career-high eight tackles in the Blues' win over Fremantle.
Head of List Management at Carlton Nick Austin is eager to see Durdin's career continue at the Blues.
โCorey has already shown his potential to excel in the elite system,โ Austin said in a club announcement.
โHe is a dynamic small-forward and plays with a real fire and tenacity that makes him a fun player to watch and a valued teammate.
โCombine that with his strength and ability to put continual pressure on the opposition, he has the qualities to develop into a consistent AFL player.
โWhat we also love about Corey is how much he cares about connecting with everyone at the Club, from his teammates to all the staff. That care to connect with those around him is impressive for someone of his age.
โWe look forward to seeing Corey continue to develop his game at the elite level over the coming years.โ
Durdin is just ten games shy of hitting the 50 games milestone. His contract extension serves as a testament to his consistency and his impressive performance in his career so far.
