Brisbane has joined the race for Gold Coast's Jack Bowes' services after reports that the former first-round draftee would be packaged with a further top-10 pick at this year's draft.

With the Suns set to sacrifice the 24-year-old in an effort to recoup a sizable portion of their salary cap, the Lions are apparently tipped to throw their hats in the rings in an effort to bolster their own draft hand.

As reported by AFL Media, the Carrara club are willing to package Bowes in a trade along with pick 7 in an effort to dump the Cairns native's back-ended deal from the books - a contract rumoured to be worth $850,000 a season until the cessation of the 2024 season.

Further reports from Callum Twomey on Tuesday evening stress that Brisbane's interest is centered around the fact that further first-round selections must make their way to the Gabba this off-season in an effort to land father-son draftees Will Ashscroft and Jaspa Fletcher, as well as facilitate a deal for wantaway Dog Josh Dunkley.

The Lions are far from the only club in contention the land the alluring package, with premiers Geelong allegedly keen, as the additional first-round draft pick would grant them access to vaunted Geelong Falcons product Jhye Clark.

St Kilda was also said to have had their interests piqued, yet, as stated by Jon Ralph via Fox Footy on Monday, the Linton Street said have opted out of taking on Bowes' contract.

Since debuting for the Suns during the opening round of the 2017 season, Bowes has added a further 82 league appearances to his name.

The midfielder was initially brought through Gold Coast's doors with the 10th selection of the 2016 National Draft.
