Carlton father-son prospect Cody Walker can add Vic Country co-captain to his growing list of accolades.

The top-three draft prospect will co-captain the side with Geelong Falcons star Noah Williams, who himself is in top 10 calculations as a midfielder-defender.

Walker, a Bendigo Pioneers product, enters the Under-18s National Championships off the back of strong form for Carlton's VFL side where he has received midfield minutes and thrived against the bigger bodies.

He is the son of Andrew Walker, who played 202 games for Carlton between 2004 and 2016.

His Vic Country side starts its campaign against the Allies at Blacktown on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Vic Metro will not have a captain to lead them through the entire Under-18s National Championships, instead opting for a rotating skipper each game.

As previously announced, South Australia will be led by energetic midfielder-forward Kodah Edwards, while George Gale and Leo Steed will lead Western Australia.

Both Gale and Steed have announced themselves through the Western Australia trial games.

The Under-18s National Championships kicks off on Saturday, with Western Australia taking on South Australia at Joondalup.
