It has been another busy week of AFL trade news and rumours, with the transfer talk heading into a frenzy once again ahead of the 2021 exchange period.

Crows veteran no closer to new deal

Out-of-contract Adelaide Crows veteran Daniel Talia has opened up on his current contract situation at West Lakes.

The All-Australian defender has committed to the Crows, expressing that his preference is to stay, but has admitted that there has been no offer to play beyond the 2021 season.

Victorian clubs facing uphill battle to land Dockers gun

The race to land in-demand Dockers midfielder Adam Cerra continues to take shape, as CarltonHawthorn and Richmond all remain to be keeping tabs on the out-of-contract onballer.

Cerra looks to be one of the most coveted players heading into the off-season, with no sign of a new deal for the 21-year-old at Fremantle.

While the Dockers remain confident in retaining Cerra's services past 2021, several Victorian clubs are in pursuit of the young gun, but face problems of their own.

Future of young Cat relying on rival interest

Geelong youngster Charlie Constable could very well be heading for the exit should rivals clubs begin to show interest in the promising midfielder.

Constable has been kept to just 12 matches across his opening three seasons at Kardinia Park and has been a dominant force for the Cats' VFL side this season.

Five clubs showing interest in fringe Cat

As many as five clubs have expressed interest in out-of-contract Geelong midfielder Quinton Narkle.

As reported by The Herald SunNarkle's manager Ralph Carr revealed that a quintet of keen suitors have put out feelers for the promising Cats onballer as a decision on his future remains on hold.

Fremantle veteran facing uncertain future

Fremantle Dockers life member Stephen Hill has suffered yet another injury setback when he tweaked his troublesome hamstring whilst playing for the Peel Thunder in the WAFL on the weekend.

Hill has had recurring hamstring injuries this year and has been unable to take the field at AFL level in 2021.

With his injury history in mind, there have been no public advances from rival clubs to secure the impending free-agent's services.

Collingwood defender waiting on coaching call before deciding future

Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard is set to hold off on re-signing with the Magpies until a final decision is made on the club's vacant coaching role.

According to SEN's Sam Edmund, Maynard won't shore up his future at the Holden Centre until Nathan Buckley's successor is named.

Out-of-favour forward reportedly on Roos’ radar

The North Melbourne Kangaroos are reportedly considering an offer for our of favour Melbourne Demons' forward Sam Weideman.

Weideman has been shifted to the background this year following Melbourne's acquisition of Ben Brown from the Kangaroos. That ,combined with the performances of Luke Jackson and Tom McDonald, have kept the almost two-metre tall forward out of the Demons' team for much of the season.

Fremantle midfielder linked to surprise Victorian club

North Melbourne is the best landing spot for out-of-contract Fremantle midfielder Adam Cerraaccording to Matt Rendell.

The midfielder, who was taken with the fifth pick in the 2017 AFL draft, and has since gone on to play over 50 games at the Dockers, is out of contract at the end of the season. He has been reportedly been mulling over a move home to Victoria.

Another Pie reportedly added to list facing contract delays

Collingwood's Brayden Sier is reportedly among a large group of Magpies yet to be offered a contract for next season.

The news, reported on AFL.com suggests that the AFL are still yet to confirm the salary cap and list sizes for 2022, making it nearly impossible for clubs to prepare for the season coming. Sier is the latest Collingwood player added to the uncertainty.

Suns midfielder tipped to depart

Suns midfielder Will Brodie has been tipped for the exit at Gold Coast come season's end.

According to Fox Sports' Tom Morris, Brodie is set to look for a new club after a prolonged battle to find a spot in Stuart Dew's side across his five seasons at the club.

The 22-year-old has played just the 24 games for the Suns since making his debut in 2017 and now faces a long queue ahead of him in Dew's midfield pecking order.

Kangaroos identify off-season targets

North Melbourne are building to a busy off-season in the player market, with the club reportedly loaded with cap space and a hunger to bolster their stocks for next season.

The Kangaroos have had a promising run of form since their bye, managing wins against the Suns, Eagles and Blues while also recording a draw against the Giants.

The influx in premiership points have shown promising glimpses for the club's future, however there are areas for improvement, which could be aided via the upcoming exchange period.

Cornes names perfect club for Crows veteran

Kane Cornes believes Adelaide forward Tom Lynch would be a great pickup for North Melbourne and is a player the club should be targeting should he be moved on from the Crows.

Lynch, 30, is a free agent at season's end and with reports that he will not be offered a new contract by the Crows, Lynch could find himself on the lookout for a new club.

Future unknown for out-of-contract Magpie

Collingwood big man Mason Cox has received plenty of scrutiny this season after a number of poor performances that have resulted in him being in and out of the side, leading some to believe his time at the Magpies will almost certainly be up come season's end.

Cox, 30, has managed just the seven games this season and is out-of-contract at the completion of this year, with reports suggesting it is unlikely the American will be offered a contract beyond 2021.

Blues youngster playing for future

Carlton midfielder Lochie O'Brien will need to capitalise on the remaining three matches of the season to cement his place at Ikon Park past 2021.

O'Brien is currently out-of-contract at season's end and has managed just three matches since the end of 2019, finding opportunities under coach David Teague to be scarce.

“Get it done now”: Magpies encouraged to re-sign star duo

Collingwood have been urged to hand star duo Jordan De Goey and Darcy Moore new deals for the long-term.

The pair are currently contracted to the Magpies until the end of next season after inking extensions last year, however club champion Mick McGuane has encouraged his former side to lock away the pair soon.
