The Western Bulldogs have acquired former Geelong and Carlton assistant coach Dale Amos, who will look after the backline in 2027.
The Bulldogs were on the search for a new defensive assistant under Luke Beveridge following Daniel Pratt's departure and subsequent joining of Essendon.
Amos was last in an AFL men's football program at the end of 2021 when he departed the Blues after David Teague was sacked.
He has spent the past five years working as Head of Football at APS School Xavier College whilst also helping out the Melbourne AFLW program.
Amos was Geelong's VFL coach in 2009, and spent six years at Kardinia Park. Three as the reserves coach and three years as an assistant under Chris Scott.
The Bulldogs backline, which Amos will be in charge of, was bolstered by the acquisition of Adelaide free agent Jordon Butts, while Buku Khamis reaffirmed his faith in the club's direction by re-signing.
Pratt wasn't the only departure to the Bombers from the Bulldogs, with Player Welfare Manager Brent Prismall joining the Tullamarine club.

Tony Brown has signed as the Bulldogs' Head of Development, joining Amos as the two additions to Beveridge's 2027 panel.
Brown was at St Kilda for 15 years before reuniting with Beveridge. The pair played together.
"We're so pleased to bring in someone of Dale's coaching calibre and experience, with his ability to develop and build relationships with his players a key attribute along his coaching journey," Western Bulldogs General Manager of Coaching and Performance Matt Egan said.
"Having such a diverse coaching journey across programs from elite juniors to the AFL, Dale will add valuable knowledge to our coaching group alongside his outstanding character as a leader.
"His calm demeanour and strategic approach will suit our evolving defence, which includes an exciting blend of youth and experience in the red, white and blue."
