St Kilda is set to sign delisted Hawthorn forward Max Ramsden despite the Hawks inviting him back over the summer months to prove himself as an SSP option.
Ramsden and Flynn Perez were offered the opportunity to train with the squad in pre-season to win AFL lifelines.
The Saints have looked to some forward and ruck options throughout the off-season, which hit fever pitch following Rowan Marshall's trade to Geelong, leaving Tom De Koning as the sole ruck.
Ramsden was drafted in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft and played 11 games, never able to lock down a spot in the Hawks' lineup as he sat behind Lloyd Meek and Ned Reeves in the ruck department.
He was also exposed as a key forward to give him greater versatility at selection.
Ramsden fell victim to the forward line squeeze, which was compounded by the acquisition of Gold Coast free agent Ben King.
According to the Herald Sun, Ramsden has found a new home at Moorabbin.
Delisted Giant Jake Stringer is also going to sign with the Saints to improve their looks inside 50, with the former GWS forward slotting 48 goals in 2026.
More to come.
