Speculation over Brodie Grundy's future at the Magpies has been raised after his manager was spotted in a meeting with a GWS executive.

Player agent Robbie D'Orazio met with Giants football operations manager Jason McCartney yesterday with the intention of discussing Grundy's future, 7 News Melbourne reports.

Grundy has five years left of his seven-year deal at the Pies (worth around $1 million per year), but is deemed very 'recruitable' by rival clubs if the right deal presents itself and the Giants could open up his next move.

The Magpies are reportedly expected to land a 5-year, $3 million deal for Brisbane's Daniel McStay and have been linked to landing Bobby Hill from the Giants, while Jordan de Goey remains uncontracted beyond 2022. Further shuffling of the current list is potentially required.

"This meeting could unlock Brodie Grundy’s next move,” 7 News Melbourne's Mitch Cleary said.

"The Giants have an interest in Grundy and my understanding is his future was discussed (on Wednesday) in some capacity.

"The Giants, though, they need to create cap room to be any chance (of securing Grundy). Tim Taranto is exploring his options, including at the Pies, while D’Orazio also manages Jacob Hopper and Tanner Bruhn, who have interest in Victoria.

"Should they leave, it could open the door for Grundy’s money."

But on Tuesday, Grundy told TV reporters that he was "not going to be dragged into that", pointing toward his long-term deal with the Magpies and a will to make his way back into the senior side.

Post his meeting with D'Orazio, Jason McCartney also told TV reporters this week that it "looks like there'll be a lot of movement across the comp".

Grundy has been nursing a PCL injury that has kept him sidelined since Anzac Day.
