Adelaide midfielder James Peatling has been placed on report following a dangerous tackle on Brisbane's Lachie Neale in the early stages of Friday's thrilling five-point victory.

Peatling locked onto Neale inside the Crows' forward 50 and pulled the two-time Brownlow medallist to the ground, before initiating a dumping action that saw Neale hit his head on the turf.

Peatling also had both arms of Neale's pinned, not allowing for Neale to brace for impact with the ground.

The Lions star was quickly assessed by medical staff on field and was deemed not to have concussion symptoms, with the 32-year-old playing out the rest of the contest.

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan said post-game that Neale was "fine" but conceded it will be "one of those (incidents) they have a look at".

Despite the fortunate outcome of Neale's health, Peatling could still face weeks on the sidelines after being reported for the action immediately by on-field umpires.

North Melbourne's Paul Curtis was given a three-match ban for a dangerous tackle in Round 7, graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

A reduction of the impact from severe to high or medium would still warrant a one or two-match ban for Peatling.

It would be a critical blow for the 9-5 Crows, who are set to travel to Tasmania to take on Hawthorn next week, with games against Richmond and Melbourne to follow.
