Touted Western Australian pair make League debut
West Coast father-son prospect Harper Banfield and West Perth tall forward Harvey Spawton-Guy made their WAFL League against each other on Saturday evening.
Banfield's Dad, Drew, was a stalwart of the Eagles between 1993 and 2006 and his brother, Charlie, is a first year player at St Kilda after the Eagles bypassed him at last year's National Draft.
He was influential with his running power and competitiveness lining up alongside the likes of Cooper Duff-Tytler and Fin Macrae.
Meanwhile, Spawton-Guy kicked two goals, including a late one to give West Perth a chance of pinching it.
Banfield is viewed as a later prospect in the 2025 National Draft crop, while Spawton-Guy sits somewhere in second round calculations. With a dearth of genuine key forward options at this year's draft, he has attracted interest as a player with genuine positional flexibility and marking prowess which he showed at the U18s carnival.
Caulfield Grammar duo shine
Caulfield Grammar's Wil Malady and Ben Forster led Caulfield Grammar to a big win over St Kevin's College on Saturday.
Malady was a barometer for Caulfield Grammar off the back of a promising Under-18s Championships, while skipper Forster was a lively presence in the back half after getting a chance to play Talent League for Sandringham in the recent school holidays.
First round prospect Marlon Neocleous also had moments of class including a wondrous first quarter goal.
Barring a major upset, the victory seals Caulfield Grammar's place in the inaugural APS football grand final against the undefeated Brighton Grammar.
Bolter attracting draft interest
Sandringham Dragons defender Ollie Bartal has emerged as a player to watch in recent weeks.
The competitive marking defender has had a strong school footy season for Haileybury College and after starting the year as a deeper defender at Talent League level, has been given the chance to get higher up the ground and provide rebound in recent weeks.
He has courted interest from several AFL clubs despite not taking part in this year's Under-18s National Championships, with his athleticism noted alongside his aggression.
He is 190cm and has averaged 12 disposals and four marks in 2026.
Mature-ager on the radar
Coburg defender Ingo Dammersmith has quietly put himself on the radar of AFL clubs in 2026.
Interest has slowly grown across the course of 2026 as he has pieced together a consistent season to lead the VFL for intercept possessions and shown great competitiveness and aggression.
At 23, he has a body of work under his belt and has also impressed in other parts of the ground.
Don't forget about this South Australian
South Adelaide midfielder-forward Angus White remains firmly in AFL Draft contention despite only playing two games this year.
The midfielder-forward is currently sidelined with an ACL injury but is an Under-16s All Australian squad member and took part in last year's annual Under-17s Futures game.
He is noted for his damage factor with the footy, ability to hit the scoreboard and pressure.
Despite minimal external talk this year, he entered the year as one of the state's most hyped prospects and is viewed as a player with upside and AFL attributes.
