Geelong has farewelled Jed Bews, George Stevens and Keighton Matofai-Forbes following the 2026 season.
Bews followed his father to the Cats after he was taken with Pick 86 in the 2011 draft. He debuted in 2014 and played 175 games, including the 2020 and 2022 grand finals.
Stevens departs the club after four AFL games, but showed plenty of promise during his time at Geelong.
The bullocking midfielder won the J.J. Liston Trophy (VFL best and fairest) this year.
Matofai-Forbes never debuted for the Cats after he was picked up as a rookie ahead of the 2025 season.
“Jed has had a huge impact both on and off the field at Geelong. As a Geelong person, his influence on our football club and the wider Geelong community has been significant,” Geelong Cats Executive General Manager - Football Andrew Mackie said.
“He has been a great teammate who has played countless selfless roles across his career. We thank Jed for everything he has given to the Club and wish him the best for his next chapter.”
Other departures are Rhys Stanley (retired) and Tyson Stengle (delisted).
Geelong will welcome Toby Greene from GWS, and are interested in St Kilda ruck Rowan Marshall.
Rival half-backs Jordan Ridley and Nick Blakey have also been floated as potential options for the Cats.
