Seen as the leading key position player in this year's draft class, Calder Cannons forward-ruck Duff-Tytler has soared into top-five contention over the past 18 months after picking football over an equally promising junior basketball career.

Stopping the tape at two metres tall, Duff-Tytler will reach the AFL in the mould of a new-age tall forward who can pinch-hit in the ruck, with his ability to follow up once the ball hits the deck making him a potential fourth midfielder at stoppages.

Commitments with the AFL Academy, Vic Metro, Calder Cannons and Essendon's VFL program combined to have Duff-Tytler placed as one of this year's premier prospects, with his athleticism, aerial prowess and read of a flighted ball making him a headache for his direct matchup.

His opener for Vic Metro, despite it coming in a heavy loss to South Australia, only strengthened his chances of being taken in the top 10 of the draft, having moved comfortably in tough conditions.

While viewed as a long-term prospect, Duff-Tytler showed his value against senior opposition in his VFL debut for the Bombers, booting three goals from five scoring shots and 13 disposals.

Where Duff-Tytler falls in the draft will be known early into the count, with all of West Coast, Richmond and Essendon seen as potential landing spots for the Cannons' big man.
