With just under half of the home-and-away season left, we've now seen enough from this season's new recruits to determine whether they'll be successful or not with their new clubs.
For every trade that hasn't worked out so far (Chris Mayne to Collingwood and Tyrone Vickery to Hawthorn) a lot have been good deals for the new clubs, and we've decided to list our top five recruits of 2017.
Marley Williams (North Melbourne), Sam Mitchell (West Coast) and Michael Hibberd (Melbourne) were all notable absentees from the list, as we opted for players who have made bigger impacts at their new homes.
2. Zach Tuohy (Geelong)
The Irishman made the move from Carlton to Geelong during last year's trade period along with a future second-round pick, with the Cats sending Billie Smedts, a future first-round pick and pick 63 to the Blues.
Tuohy has slotted straight into Geelong's back six, and is having a career-year with ball in hand.
The durable half-back who hasn't missed a game since 2012 is averaging 26.5 disposals and 5.5 rebound 50s a game this season, and has played a huge part in Geelong's successes in 2017.
