With just under half of the home-and-away season left, we've now seen enough from this season's new recruits to determine whether they'll be successful or not with their new clubs.
For every trade that hasn't worked out so far (Chris Mayne to Collingwood and Tyrone Vickery to Hawthorn) a lot have been good deals for the new clubs, and we've decided to list our top five recruits of 2017.
Marley Williams (North Melbourne), Sam Mitchell (West Coast) and Michael Hibberd (Melbourne) were all notable absentees from the list, as we opted for players who have made bigger impacts at their new homes.
3. Toby Nankervis (Richmond)
The young ruckman made the move from Sydney to Richmond for just pick 46, and it's already looking like a great deal for the Tigers.
Nankervis has slotted straight into Richmond's side and made an immediate impact, and is already one of their most important players so far this season.
His 25.7 hitouts per game haven't set the world on fire, but his production around the ground has been first class, and it's something the Tigers have been missing for years.
