With just under half of the home-and-away season left, we've now seen enough from this season's new recruits to determine whether they'll be successful or not with their new clubs.
For every trade that hasn't worked out so far (Chris Mayne to Collingwood and Tyrone Vickery to Hawthorn) a lot have been good deals for the new clubs, and we've decided to list our top five recruits of 2017.
Marley Williams (North Melbourne), Sam Mitchell (West Coast) and Michael Hibberd (Melbourne) were all notable absentees from the list, as we opted for players who have made bigger impacts at their new homes.
1. Bradley Hill (Fremantle)
The Fremantle winger left the Hawks in exchange for pick 23, and has had an impact this season like no other recruit across the league.
Hill is averaging career-highs in almost every major category, and has been central to Fremantle's resurgence in 2017.
His back-to-back performances against Essendon (37 disposals, 16 marks, one goal) and Richmond (28 disposals, 11 marks, one goal) showcases the quality of the 23-year-old, who has the potential to star in Fremantle's midfield for years to come.
