Promising Carlton duo Corey Durdin and Alex Mirkov have both put pen to paper on Monday to sign on until 2024.

Both players are yet to really make their mark on the game, but have gained the support of the club given the pair's excellent attitude and mindset throughout their time with the Blues thus far.

“The willingness of Corey and Alex to learn and adapt is outstanding and they have integrated into the program seamlessly since arriving at the Club,” Carlton’s head of list management Nick Austin said.

“We are pleased to be able to re-sign Corey and Alex for a further two years and look forward to seeing their development continue.”

Mirkov was signed to Carlton's reserves in 2021, with his excellent form enough to convince the Blues to select him in the 2021 NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

The young ruckman has already made his mark in the reserves, having recorded a game-high 30 hit-outs to go along with 14 disposals, five tackles and three clearances in his first game of the season.

Durdin was selected at Pick 37 by the Blues in the 2020 AFL draft after impressing in the SANFL with Central District. The 19-year-old small forward is credited for his smarts, competitiveness and forward pressure.

Only just starting to break into the first team, Durdin played two senior games for Carlton towards the end of the 2021 season, as well as kicking two goals against Melbourne during the AAMI community Series. Durdin booted a further two goals in Round 1 of 2022, while managing 14 disposals.

Durdin will look to keep his spot in the 22 as the in-form Blues take on first-placed Hawthorn in Round 3.
