A man claiming to be the infamous Auskick Dad who photographed Brisbane Lions' confidential whiteboard of Essendon players' strengths and weaknesses has spoken.

The man, calling himself Steve, called up SEN and provided a snapshot of the events from his point-of-view.

“We were never told that we could not take photos. We never had anyone had from the Brisbane Lions tell us what we could or couldn't do, only the Auskick co-ordinator,” he said.

“And those things were also sent out in a text message is ‘there is to be no food or drinks inside the caged turf areas. We ask that the parents stay around the side areas of the cage. No football boots are to be worn.' They were the only rules given to us.”

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan lashed out at the man in his post-match press conference on Saturday, frustrated that someone was allowed into the club and took what he termed an illegal photo.

While it mostly contained strengths and weaknesses of individuals' performance from the perspective of Bombers players, a reference to former Lion Jaxon Prior's girlfriend has not been well received.

“I abided by every single rule that they set out, we entered and exited through a fire exit on the side of the building. We had nobody from the Brisbane Lions come and interact with us,” the man continued.

“The photo when it was taken was visible from where I was standing, where we were allowed to stand and I wasn't the only one who took the photo, but obviously when I posted it to the Essendon supporters page, which is a private page anyway, I was contact by the media manager from the Brisbane Lions asking me to take it down, which I also did, immediately.

“Then Fagan would have known from that time, 6.30pm-7pm at night, that I did post that picture – I didn't know it was confidential, I didn't know Jaxon Prior's girlfriend's name was on it.”
