Damien Hardwick has officially called time in his role as Richmond's senior coach, departing the club after 14 years and three premierships.

Hardwick's stint as coach at the Tigers has been a memorable one. Taking over in 2009, Hardwick led the club to flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020, becoming the longest serving coach of the club in the process, and the longest serving of any current coaches in the league.

After so many years, Hardwick's name has become almost synonymous with the club, with the AFL landscape, and the world, looking far different when the 50-year-old first took the reins at the Tigers.

We've taken a look back to when Hardwick was announced as the new coach at Punt Road, in August 2009, to see what things looked like.
