The Eagles have confirmed that injured midfielder Jai Culley has been moved onto their inactive list ahead of Wednesday's 2023 AFL Mid-Season Draft.

With a Rookie list spot opened, West Coast will have the chance to take the first pick of the Mid-Season Draft once again.

Culley, who was himself taken as Pick 1 at the 2022 Mid-Season Draft, suffered an ACL in Round 8, just eight games into his AFL career.

With the 20-year-old out for the season, all eyes with be on Gippsland Power forward Ryan Maric, who appears destined to be an Eagle.

Maric went unselected in the 2022 National Draft but has since rebuilt himself to be fitter, faster, and stronger. The 191cm prospect has received widespread admiration for his potential and current fit in the AFL.

For a struggling side like West Coast, Maric could make an instant impact at the top level.

The Eagles may also consider 199cm key forward Jack Buller, who is averaging 16 disposals and 1.6 goals a game at Claremont in the WAFL.

The AFL Mid-Season Draft will take place on Wednesday, May 31, at 7:00pm AEST (5:00pm AWST), with West Coast to kick off proceedings.
