Warren Tredrea has officially joined the North Adelaide Football Club, signing on as a specialist coach for the 2023 season.

The four-time best and fairest winner hung up the boots in 2010 after an illustrious career at Port Adelaide, booting 549 goals in 255 games, and captained the Power to a premiership in 2004.

The 44-year-old has worked in the media landscape since his retirement but is now joining the Roosters for the SANFL season, saying that he was "immediately impressed" by the program.

“I'm looking forward to working with Jacob Surjan and the North Adelaide Football Club in a skilled specialist role for the 2023 season," Tredrea said.

"Jacob is a great mate and he reached out almost a year ago asking if I would be interested in helping some of the North Adelaide forwards.

"I attended training and was immediately impressed with the coaching program and the players attitude to success. Over the past few months, we have been in regular contact about a casual skill specialist role working with the coaching group and forwards.

"I am looking forward to helping out where I can to improving a playing group I have seen is as driven as any for success."

North Adelaide senior coach Jacob Surjan said Tredrea joining the club was a "fantastic opportunity".

"It's a fantastic opportunity for our club to have a person of Warren's stature working with our playing group," Surjan said.

"Warren and I have been in communication for some time regarding a role working with our players as a specialist coach. Warren has a wealth of football knowledge which he has expressed he would like to give back to our group."

North Adelaide's season gets underway on Saturday, April 1 against West Adelaide.
