Dane Swan will play his footy for the Boyne Island Tannum Sands Saints, in the outskirts of the Gladstone region, in Queensland.
The club announced Swan's signature through their social media channels on Monday morning, and are eager for the 258-game Magpie to run out for his first game, this Saturday.
Swan is one of many former top-liners who travel the land as football mercenaries of sorts, drumming up crowds, revenue and atmosphere for clubs at the grassroots level.
Swan may be the most prolific of the bunch, having previously represented clubs in Gippsland, Perth, Broken Hill and outer Melbourne, with rural Queensland now getting a glance at the tattooed larrikin.
The 42-year-old saw his glittering AFL career come to a premature end through injury after a Lisfranc fracture in Round 1, 2016.

"The BITS Saints are incredibly proud to announce that 250-game AFL superstar, Collingwood premiership player and Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan has signed on with our club for 2026," the club's statement read.
"Dane's involvement has already strengthened our senior program, inspired our juniors, and added something truly special to our club. We know his presence will help create an unforgettable year for our players, members, volunteers, sponsors, and the wider BITS Saints community."
