St Kilda has emerged as a suitor for axed Bomber Shaun McKernan, reports SEN's Sam Edmund.

The Saints are reportedly weighing up throwing a lifeline to the 30-year old, who was delisted by Essendon last month.

McKernan has booted 72 goals from 87 AFL games, crossing from the Crows to the Bombers at the end of the 2014 season.

St Kilda have identified the big man as potential ruck insurance for Paddy Ryder and Rowan Marshall following the delistings of Ryan Abbott and Jack Bell.

McKernan is also reportedly weighing up attractive offers from local clubs for 2021.
