A renowned motivator, and a lauded connector of men, Hinkley boasts the grit to do the dirty work and the polish to present to stakeholders.
However, if he's to maximise the club's considerable draft and list concessions, and ultimately bring the cup to the Apple Isle, he'll be doing something that he never achieved in more than a decade with the Power, and something the inaugural coach of an AFL team has never, ever done.

5. Gold Coast Suns / Guy McKenna
"Bluey" was a driving force behind the Eagles' first two flags in the '90s.
He would link up with his premiership coach Mick Malthouse at the Pies, as an assistant between 2003 and 2008, during which time he lost the St Kilda coaching race, with the Saints settling on Ross Lyon.
McKenna would get his chance to helm a club of his own when the Suns appointed him as their man ahead of their entry into the national competition.
He would go 24-64 in four years at Carrara, with the club only sniffing finals in his final year, thanks in totality to Gary Ablett's blistering start to the season, which came unstuck, courtesy of a Brent Macaffer tackle.
