Geelong is in talks with Tyson Stengle's camp about parting ways after an extended period affected by personal issues.
Stengle played in Geelong's 2022 premiership but has been away from the club at different stages on personal leave this season, last appearing at AFL level in last year's grand final.
The AFL's own website is reporting that despite having three years to run on his deal, an end to his time at the Cattery is being worked towards.
Stengle was drafted by Richmond in 2016, spending two seasons each at Tigerland and Adelaide, before landing at Geelong ahead of 2022, where he was an AFL regular for four seasons before 2026.
It follows speculation that Collingwood is finalising an exit for 2023 Norm Smith Medalist Bobby Hill.
Pies coach Craig McRae spoke on Hill on Tuesday.
"There is an emotion attached to it, there is, absolutely. There's the playing part and the high performance of what he's capable of doing for our team and for our supporter base, and then there's the other personal part," McRae said on Tuesday.
