Polarising Brisbane Lions Dayne Zorko and Cameron Rayner have both been handed staging sanctions by the Match Review Officer, following moments to forget in the side's trouncing of the Adelaide Crows on Saturday night.

Zorko was handed a $1500 fine ($1000 with an early plea) for his first quarter incident, while repeat offender Rayner was handed a $3125 fine ($1875 with an early plea) for his third quarter faux pas.

Crows defender Max Michalanney has been handed a one-match ban for a strike delivered to Lion Charlie Cameron in the first term, meaning he faces a delayed start to his 2027 campaign, should he fail to overturn the charge at the Tribunal.

Lions gun Rayner has form in the space, with his infamous antics in the 2025 qualifying final against Geelong, still fresh in the memory.

The Lions handily defeated the Crows, and progressed to a preliminary final against Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday evening.
