Richmond have confirmed Toby Nankervis will undergo surgery on a syndesmosis injury, just a day after confirming Tom Lynch will be sidelined due to surgery on his foot.
Nankervis suffered the injury to his left ankle in Round 4's loss to the Western Bulldogs, now expected to be sidelined for the "medium term".
The club confirmed the fresh injury blow in a statement on Monday.
"Richmond co-captain Toby Nankervis will undergo surgery for a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle," the statement read.

"Nankervis sustained the injury during the Round 4 game against the Western Bulldogs.
"He is expected to be out for the medium term."
Nankervis has played all four games for the Tigers so far in 2023, averaging 16.8 disposals and 37 hitouts per game.
On Sunday, the Tigers confirmed that star forward Tom Lynch would head to surgery after suffering a foot fracture, reportedly facing up to two months on the sidelines.
The duo join Tom Brown (wrist), Josh Gibcus (hamstring), Mate Colina (back) and Kaleb Smith (foot) on the medium-to-long term injury list.
