Richmond halfback Nick Vlastuin will miss the next three to four weeks of football after suffering a collarbone injury against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

The incident happened in the second quarter as Vlastuin was tackled by Matthew Suckling, before leaving the field and not returning to the game.

"Nick came off the ground with a sore shoulder, sort of at the back of the shoulder, the scapula. We scanned him the next day and he's got a small fracture, which is going to require some time out unfortunately," Richmond's Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge told the club's website.

"3-4 weeks at this stage, and hopefully the shorter term is what we're looking for, but we'll wait and see how that heals, hopefully he's back sooner rather than later."

Richmond are also monitoring midfielder Dion Prestia, who missed last weekend's clash with a hamstring complaint.

While he's a chance to return for the Tigers' home match against Fremantle this Sunday, Burge said the club won't risk the former Gold Coast Sun.

"He's running at the moment, it's really just a case of seeing how he is later in the week at this stage. It's a 50-50 call," Burge said.

"Dion hasn't played a lot of footy in the last 12 months - he's obviously a great player and we want to make sure that we do the right thing given his limited preseason as well.

"The good news for Dion is his knee injury that he's had in the past has been great.

"His training load is still building over time and we'd expect him to be doing a little bit more towards the end of the season than what he's done previously.

"He just hasn't recovered from the last couple of games back-to-back.

"He'll be back pretty soon and we just want to make sure that when he's right to go, we've got him right and we're not rushing him back in the side. Unsure about this week, probably more likely next week but we'll see how he is later this week."
