With an X-factor packed 2018 draft we are set to see some young guns light up the field in 2019. Sam Walsh has torn up the track over the summer according to veteran defender Kade Simpson and with an impressive JLT season opener against Essendon, expect to see the first pick take the field in the season opener against the Tigers.
Will Gold Coast's trio of top ten picks in Jack Lukosius, Izak Rankine and Ben King perform the way coach Stuart Dew wants them to resulting in a rise from the so far disappointing Suns or will the youngster's crack under the pressure?
Look for the Suns to bring a more exciting brand of footy with the addition of these three stars in the making.
Can the more seasoned youngsters such as Patrick Cripps, Marcus Bontempelli, Josh Kelly and Charlie Curnow light up the stage once more in 2019, and push for a Brownlow or Coleman in what is set for one of the closest races for the coveted awards in years?
The not-so lucky youngsters in Jack Scrimshaw of Hawthorn and Will Setterfield of Carlton will have every chance to perform on the big stage in 2019 and is something all footy fans can be excited by.
