2. Ben Hudson

Ben Hudson makes this list mostly for his contribution after coming out of retirement.

Ben Hudson initially played for both Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs between 2004 and 2011.

In 2011, he announced his retirement and moved to Queensland, however, Brisbane were able to convince him to play on, which he did in 2012.

Hudson retired once again but declared his intention to come back, and began training with Collingwood, hoping to be drafted. The Pies would do so, and Hudson would play from 2013-2014.

During his time at Collingwood, Hudson was also used as ruck coach while playing. It is here where he contributed most after his retirements. Hudson would work with Brodie Grundy and Jarrod Witts, being instrumental in the early years for two of today's premier ruck men.
