All 23 are worthy selections and have the right to claim a blazer.

Brisbane forward Kai Lohamm also deemed himself stiff, as well as a star teammate.

"Me and Loges (Logan Morris) were up in Noosa for a few days, so obviously I was super proud of him that he got the call, and he's in the team as well, so that was awesome. But yeah, obviously, I was a bit flat," Lohmann said on B105's Stav, Abby & Matt.

"I thought I had a pretty good year as a small forward, and you know Nick Watson was very deserved and he got in there as well, but yeah I was a little bit flat early on, but I think I'm fine now, like obviously I didn't finish off last two games very well so sort of shot myself in the foot.

“At the end of the day, it's an individual award, and obviously we've got bigger fish to fry at the moment with finals and winning another Grand Final, which is way more important.”

The Dockers captain was superb in many facets of the game, but largely anchored the Fremantle defence as they claimed the minor premiership.

Pearce's defensive one-on-one record ranks among the best in key defenders (21.3 per cent loss rate).

His intangible work, helping set up teammates and forming the Dockers defence, should not be underrated, as multiple match-winning moments throughout the year are remembered by those who have praised his efforts this season.
