"Me and Loges (Logan Morris) were up in Noosa for a few days, so obviously I was super proud of him that he got the call, and he's in the team as well, so that was awesome. But yeah, obviously, I was a bit flat," Lohmann said on B105's Stav, Abby & Matt.

"I thought I had a pretty good year as a small forward, and you know Nick Watson was very deserved and he got in there as well, but yeah I was a little bit flat early on, but I think I'm fine now, like obviously I didn't finish off last two games very well so sort of shot myself in the foot.

“At the end of the day, it's an individual award, and obviously we've got bigger fish to fry at the moment with finals and winning another Grand Final, which is way more important.”

Ashcroft has taken on more responsibility playing in the midfield this year when teammates missed games due to injury. But what a relief for Chris Fagan.

The 22-year-old has averaged 28.7 touches, 5.3 clearances, 3.4 tackles and 5.1 marks.

Ashcroft's last 10 weeks came with a bolt, running parallel to Brisbane's run to finish third on the ladder.

He's one of the leading score-involvement players in the competition.
