A side that made multiple 'win-now' moves in the off-season has also been afforded a run into September that features the equal-fewest travel minutes in the competition after Round 12.

Ross Lyon's band of merry men will spend just 185 more minutes airborne for the rest of the season, and they fulfil that obligation with Round 13's trip to Sydney, where a renewed and ominous Swans outfit awaits.

Following that Swans rendezvous, the Saints do not leave Victoria.

The Saints sit two games below even at 5-7. Dating back to 2021, only once has the 10th-placed side at season's end registered less than 11 victories, so the Saints will need to get moving in order to qualify for a finals berth. Luckily, the Moorabbin natives have six contests in their final 11 against sides also outside of the current top 10, further aiding their push.

A Carlton outfit that now, somehow, can allow the mind to wander to a potential Wildcard Round berth - having been reinvigorated by the appointment of Josh Fraser as their caretaker coach - also leaves Victoria just once before season's end, in Round 15.

On the flip side, top four incumbents Hawthorn travel the most of all the Victorian clubs in the run home, and more than a GWS outfit who have recently discovered some form, having polished off likely finalists Brisbane and Melbourne.

The eyesore that was Essendon's empty grandstands against Fremantle can be reasonably expected to become the new norm. The Bombers leave Victoria just once as they limp to their horror season's merciful conclusion, and fans could be forgiven for giving their side a wide berth after multiple uncompetitive outings against their foot-of-the-ladder contemporaries, West Coast and Richmond.

The AFL team handed the softest travel run home as finals push looms

As is their unfortunate custom, given the nature of the competition, the West Coast Eagles, the Gold Coast Suns, the Fremantle Dockers and the Brisbane Lions are the four sides with the heaviest travel burdens as September looms.
