AFL SuperCoach is officially open for 2023, with coaches getting in early to build their teams following the opening weeks of the pre-season.

Thousands of SuperCoaches have begun selecting their sides and looking to find the right balance of premiums, PODs and rookies after months of scouting and planning.

After almost a month of SuperCoach being open, two Brisbane recruits lead the way as the most selected players for SuperCoach teams, with draft gun Will Ashcroft leading the way with 69% ownership.

His teammate and former Bulldog Josh Dunkley narrowly trails thanks to his dual position status as a midfield-forward hybrid, with Dunkley comfortably the first picked among forwards with a 9% buffer over ex-teammate Toby McLean - another DPP forward.

In fact, the top 11 selected forwards all have DPP status, with returning Suns tall Ben King (23%) the most selected pure forward given his price of $176,300.

Ashcroft leads the way for pure midfielders at 69%, landing ahead of young Roo Will Phillips (52%), new Tiger Jacob Hopper (47%) and Demons superstar Clayton Oliver (45%).
