The 2026 trade and free agency period is done, but there is no rest for the wicked in the AFL.
List managers and recruiters will already be doing the groundwork on next year's uncontracted stars, trying to lure them to their respective clubs.
And 2027's list of uncontracted players and free agents is eye-catching.
Here at Zero Hanger, we have listed the 14 biggest names that head into next season with only one year remaining on their deals, and the clubs that will be eyeing them off like a lion with a gazelle.
Will Day

Any club would love to have Day as part of its engine room.
The talented and mobile tall midfielder recovered from his various injuries in the latter stage of the season and was part of a Hawks side that fell an inch short of a Grand Final berth.
Hawthorn has said it wants to sign Day up long term to the club, and the 25-year-old appears, from the outside, equally keen to remain a Hawk.
But Adelaide and Port Adelaide will come hard for the South Australian native.
It could be a situation where the club that misses out on Wanganeen-Milera goes full throttle at Day.
Seems unlikely that he will leave Hawthorn, though, given the position of the club across the next few seasons.
Potential suitors: Adelaide, Port Adelaide
