Tasmania have confirmed that Robbie Fox will join their VFL side for the 2026 season after he was delisted from Sydney.

Fox carved out a relatively successful career at the Swans, joining the club as a rookie in 2017 and playing 105 games, including two grand finals.

The Penguin product was deemed the "most versatile player" on Sydney's list, and will be a huge addition for the Devils as they begin to construct their side.

"To be a part of this Club from the first VFL bounce is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Fox said.

"This is the next stage in my career, and I am looking forward to being back in Tasmania to help others grow and develop myself in this next chapter.

"My discussions with the Club have been so positive. I understand and believe in the opportunity of this Club to have a huge impact across Tasmania, and I cannot wait to be a part of that."

List boss Todd Patterson was excited by the prospect of Fox, who, at 32, can contribute to the club.

"This is a young man who had to move to chase his dream, and he has now made the conscious decision to come back and help others achieve what he has before," Patterson said.

"As a player, he is almost exactly what you need from a VFL perspective, given he is so mature, such a good communicator and able to play in various positions."

The Devils also announced former Essendon forward Jye Menzie last week.

It is understood that the club has welcomed Riddell gun youngster Lachy Hay, according to The Mercury.
