Tasmania director Alastair Lynch says there is no clear role for recently sacked North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson.
The Kangaroos parted ways with Clarkson earlier this week despite having one more year remaining on his contract.
The Devils are still filling out some significant roles at the club after gaining some momentum with Ken Hinkley named as the inaugural coach.
"I don't think so," Lynch said on SEN.
"I think with Clarko, with his contribution to the game with Hawthorn and then North Melbourne, he genuinely to me, and I don't know Clarko well, but I chat to him when I see him at the footy. He looks tired.
"I think this whole Hawthorn vilification issue that was dragged out publicly and in a lot of negotiations with the AFL; there were legal issues. Obviously, that looks like it's been draining for him.
"So I would think now would be to have a good break, and then, you know, he mightn't want to do anything more in footy at all, but I think a good couple of years off to refresh and then see what he wants to do for the remainder of his working life."
Clarkson has links to Tasmania, having served as a high-profile advisor and consultant for the state's AFL bid taskforce, helping lay the groundwork for the 19th licence.
He coached Hawthorn for 17 years, who had a strong foothold in the Apple Isle and Launceston.
As did the Kangaroos, who played in Hobart.
