Sydney is a chance to welcome back Lance Franklin on Friday night, as the Swans looks to move off the bottom of the ladder.

Franklin has missed Sydney's last two matches with a hamstring injury, but could return on Friday provided he trains well on Wednesday.

"He did some running today (Monday) and he did some running on Saturday up in Brisbane, so we'll see how he goes on Wednesday," Swans coach John Longmire told the media.

"We can't say yes or no (to him playing) just yet, but we'll give him every chance."

However, it's not all positive news on the injury front for Sydney, who will be without defender Harry Cunningham for the next six weeks.

Cunningham has been one of the Swans' strongest performers over the first seven rounds, but will miss at least the next month after tearing the adductor in his right leg.
