Brisbane coach Chris Fagan says he's yet to determine what his future looks like, only days after securing three consecutive premierships.
Leading into Saturday's Grand Final against Fremantle, speculation began circulating over whether it would be Fagan's last game as the Lions coach.
In the lead-up to the contest, he was very vocal about his attention being on the game, whilst his future hadn't been made up yet.
And he provided the latest on Monday morning.
"I haven't made up my mind. I mean, people think I have, but I haven't," Fagan said on SEN.
"I just need a little bit of time to think about whether I want to keep going. I've been doing it for 10 years. It's the relentless responsibility and pressure that exists around senior coaching, and that's fair enough. It's a high-profile job, and it's well-paid, and I get all that. But it does it mentally and physically, and you know I'm lucky.
"My team's been playing finals for eight years, and we've been fortunate enough to win three premierships. But it still sucks a lot of energy out of you. And I think if you want to keep doing the job, you've got to be able to continue to deliver that energy.
"I've always believed that the head coach of a footing club is - I call him the CEO, the chief energy officer. If you don't have it, then your players invariably don't either. And I just want to make sure that if I do go on, that I'm going to be able to deliver in the manner that I want to."
Fagan was quizzed on whether the lure of four successive flags was enough to keep him in the hot seat.
"There's a lure there. I mean, it sounds pretty good. No one else has done it in AFL history," he said.
"I think it's been done in VFL history in the past with the Collingwood teams but not since we've had the equalisation methods and stuff. They're pretty hard to win now.
"There's a little bit of that."
If Fagan were to depart, Lions football boss Danny Daly looms as a potential replacement, saying across the weekend he has a desire to be an AFL coach.
"Yeah, I'd like to think so (I'm a coach in my soul). I'm a bit like 'Fages' in terms of you still battle a little bit with belief and the fact you haven't played the game at the highest level," Daly said on SEN on Saturday.
