Treloar was linked with a move north after his partner signed a 10-month contract with the Queensland Firebirds for 2021.
The gun midfielder’s manager, Tim Hazell, shot down the move, with the 27-year old contracted to the Magpies until the end of the 2025 season.
And now Edmund reports that the Suns have “conceded defeat” over the prospect of luring Treloar to the club.
It comes just 12 months after both clubs discussed a blockbuster deal involving Treloar, but the Suns refused to part with Pick 1 or Pick 2.
Gold Coast are believed to be keen to trade their first round pick this year – currently Pick 5 – to land a seasoned player.
