The Richmond Tigers' chances of defeating the Adelaide Crows have taken an early hit, with 2021 first-round draft pick Tom Brown sidelined with a forearm injury in the first quarter of Sunday afternoon's encounter.

The 2017 Grand Finalists close Round 9's action, with scores knotted at the time of the injury.

Brown managed just the solitary disposal in the clash, prior to the unfortunate setback, and must now watch from the pine as his side attempt to pull off an unlikely victory.

The 22-year-old Brown played every game for Adem Yze last season, averaging career high numbers for disposals and kicks per game in the process, cementing himself as a key part of Yze's offence as the club continues to transition its list, post-premiership-window.

Brown is expected to undergo scans on the injury in the coming days, in order to determine his availability for the Tigers next block of matches, that includes winnable games against St Kilda and Essendon, before daunting tests against the likes of Sydney and Brisbane.
