Gold Coast forward Peter Wright has signed a two-year contract extension with the Suns, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2019 season.

Wright enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, kicking 27 goals in 17 games as he established himself as one of the game's most promising young key forwards.

'Two metre Petere' told the club's website he had no hesitation in re-signing.

“It was a decision which in my view was always going to get done, I am really settled up here – love the group, loving coming to training each day and I see my future here,” Wright said.

Meanwhile, teammate Callum Ah Chee has also re-signed, committing the to the club until 2019.

"I'm absolutely loving it here on the Gold Coast and thought it was the right time to extend as I'm very excited at what 2017 and beyond will bring," Ah Chee said.

"It's a great football club and I'm loving how we are going."
