Another week, another 'Social Talk' segment, where we take a bit of a lighter look at what's made news this week.
Here's what made headlines this week:
Hawks Announce Coaching Succession Plan
Hawthorn made a huge announcement that will shake up the future of the league, with the club announcing Box Hill coach Sam Mitchell will take over from current super coach, Alistair Clarkson, from the end of the 2022 season and beyond in a coaching succession plan.
There were definitely some mixed emotions by Hawks fans.
Donโt know how sacking a four time premiership coach who is rebuilding for next tilt and replacing him with untried coach is a good move? And Jeffโฆ why is it a bad thing that Alistair has been a hawk for so long? Maybe youโve been at the Hawks for too long? #nothappyhawk

The Bulldogs Give JUH His Debut (finally)
It's taken until Round 17, but he's here... number one pick in the 2020 draft, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, will FINALLY make his debut for the Western Bulldogs this week.
It's a special moment for Ugle-Hagan, who has had a tough time cracking into this fantastic Bulldogs lineup and has had a number of questions asked about him and his future at the club.
During his announcement speech, Ugle-Hagan put the speculation about his future to bed, saying: "All this talk about trade and stuff, like obviously that's all bulls--- because I'm not going anywhere".
Doggies fans are clearly looking forward to seeing their top pick in AFL action!
Iโm not cryingโฆโฆโฆโฆ..really Iโm not ๐ญ go well Jamarra, weโre all soooo happy for you โค๏ธ.

Bloody special to see JUH debut on NAIDOC week. He might not quite have the runs on the board, but hoping he lights it up on Sunday!

Dockers Champ Hits Game 200
Fremantle Dockers superstar Nat Fyfe is set to play game 200 this week.
A dual Brownlow medallist, a three-time All-Australian, captain since 2017 and undoubtedly one of the best to ever run out on an AFL field, Fyfe has had an amazing career to date and still going strong.
Well done, Fyfey!
People with 5 minutes memories think otherwise, but this guy is 1A as the best player of the last decade. https://t.co/47Lg5iahWc

Writing about Nat Fyfe again because why not. One number still blows my mind every time I see it. Between Round 12 2014 and Round 13 2015 Fyfe polled 45 Brownlow medal votes (2.05 per game). It's insane

Wines And Viney Were Connected From Early On (Sort Of)
During Friday night's clash between Port Adelaide and Melbourne on Channel Seven, a feature piece was shown about Melbourne's Jack Viney and Port Adelaide's Ollie Wines about how they were close friends during their junior footy and how they shared their first game of AFL football together against each other.
This intelligent post shows their connection may have gone back way before the duo even knew each other. It was meant to be.
The Dees Making Noise On The Socials
The Demons are red-hot on the field and a couple of funny things have come about on social media in the last day.
Our own Ed Carmine made a great comparison about a Max Gawn cut-out and a famous 1971 classic 'Wake in Fright'.
Great stuff, Ed!
Random nerd note, but that ubiquitous Max Gawn cut-out with the psychotic eyes is a dead ringer for Donald Pleasance in the 1971 classic 'Wake in Fright'. #AFLPowerDees pic.twitter.com/HXb6CPV2hA

It didn't stop about the Dees there, though.
Funnily enough, the Demons just so happen to have 66.6k followers on Twitter.
Coincidence? I think not.

'Libba' Re-Signs With The Bulldogs
Western Bulldogs star midfielder Tom Liberatore re-signed with the club this week on a new two-year deal after a brilliant 2021 season so far.
As most may have seen, 'Libba' has a tattoo of Homer Simpson.
Teammate Ling Jong stole the headlines on social media though, with this brilliant Instagram post relating Liberatore's re-signing to a famous 'Simpsons' episode involving Homer Simpson.
Well played, Ling. Well played.

Young Dons Star Re-Signs
Essendon's Darcy Parish has had a breakout year in 2021 and as a result, has earned himself another two-year contract at the Bombers.
Parish is averaging 32.1 disposals and 8.2 clearances a game in 2021 and has risen up the ranks as one of the most promising midfielders.
Bombers fans may have hoped for a longer deal, but nonetheless, will be more than pleased to see their young star remain at the club. Some a bit more emotional than others.
IโM SO HAPPY I COULD CRY ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ https://t.co/O24ceWoNIP
— Dani Brown (@itsdanibrown) July 6, 2021
Darcy Parish the first footballer in VFL-AFL history to win the Anzac Day Medal, Yiooken Award and the Tom Wills Medal in the one season. In all seriousness, what a big-game player. Truck forecast 30 per cent improvement this year and it has been more like 200. Well done, Darcy.
