Brisbane youngster Josh Schache enjoyed a return to form on Saturday afternoon, booting five goals for the Lions' reserves side in the NEAFL.

Schache, fresh from signing a two-year contract extension with the club, also finished with 10 marks, four tackles and a total of 17 disposals.

The 19-year-old returned to action a fortnight ago, after being granted leave by the club, in which time he returned home to Victoria, before opting to re-sign with the Lions after speculation on his future was mounting.

Schache's bag of five goals helped Brisbane to a huge 150-point win over Southport.

The Lions won 27.13 (175) to 4.1 (25), as they remained third on the ladder.

Schache has played just six games for the senior side this season, kicking six goals.
