North Melbourne's Jed Anderson has avoided suspension for his striking charge on Dockers star Andrew Brayshaw during Friday night's clash at Optus Stadium.

During the second quarter of Fremantle's 78-point win over the Kangaroos, Anderson and Brayshaw competed in a marking contest that saw the former's left arm swing into Brayshaw's midriff.

The Dockers midfielder was left grimacing on the ground before a melee between Anderson and Fremantle players broke out.

The incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact, Body Contact by the Match Review Officer, with Anderson handed a $2000 fine.

Anderson can accept the sanction - which was reduced from $3000 in being a first offence - with an early guilty plea.

The incident was the only charge laid by the MRO from Friday's matches, with any charges from Saturday's action set to be handed down on Sunday night.

Tiger Rhyan Mansell could face time on the sidelines for his high forearm hit on Collingwood forward Jack Ginnivan during Saturday match at the MCG.
