North Melbourne have welcomed the return of Jed Anderson back to Arden Street this week, with the Kangaroos midfielder arriving from Darwin after initially opting not to comply with the AFL's mandated vaccine requirements.

Anderson resided interstate after suffering an alarming reaction to his first COVID-19 vaccine dose from late last year, placing the former Hawk under some doubt to receive his second jab and return to the club.

North Melbourne have now confirmed that Anderson has linked up with his teammates at training on Wednesday after receiving his second vaccine, with the 27-year-old now set to focus on the season ahead.

"North Melbourne Kangaroos midfielder Jed Anderson has joined his teammates at training on Wednesday after complying with the AFLโ€™s COVID-19 health and safety protocols," a club statement reads.

"The club will not be making any further comment at this time."

Anderson is yet to comment on his hesitancy, with the club having kept in constant communication with the onballer in putting forward their support.

"Iโ€™ve said to him all the way along that weโ€™ll be there to support you as an individual with what you need to do," Kangaroos coach David Noble said earlier this month.

"Weโ€™re trying to support him as best as we can from that side of things. Weโ€™ll work to hopefully get a good outcome for both people."

Anderson has played 75 games since arriving at North Melbourne from Hawthorn at the end of the 2015 season.

North Melbourne is set toย face Melbourne and Sydney throughout their pre-seasonย fixturing before a Round 1 clash against Hawthorn on Sunday, March 20.
